Empowering Punch Internship

Empowering Punch is a Personal Training, Fitness and Boxing Studio located in the Southpark Mall in Strongsville. We are looking for an aspiring fitness professional that is interested in learning the operational, sales and marketing side of the fitness business while in the process of obtaining a personal training degree and/or certification.

Primary Areas of Responsibility

Front Desk

This is the most critical position in the business. The first impression of a prospective member makes or breaks an opportunity to make a sale. This candidate will learn everything from the proper greeting to how to transition a simple information call into a client.

Sales

To be a successful personal trainer and especially a business owner or manager, knowing how to sell oneself or one’s company is key. This candidate will learn first hand how to sell fitness without ever sounding like a salesperson.

Marketing

Sales are generated from leads and leads are generated from strategic marketing. This candidate will be involved in developing marketing strategies and assist with implementation and execution of the plans.

Detailed Responsibilities

• Reception and customer service
• Conducting follow up, confirmation, and prospective sales calls
• Conducting grass roots marketing efforts
• Touring prospective members
• Attending and working on- and offsite events such as boxing birthday parties, health fairs and trade shows
• Assisting with cleaning the fitness studio

The candidate will also participate in staff development sessions with the personal training team.

Internship Term: 12 Weeks

Compensation: Unpaid. Full access to fitness classes and workout facility

Hours: 12-15 hours / week
